Gable end all framed in with windows installed

Been workin’ like a mad man at the end of each day of guiding trying to get the cabin all dried in before the Winter sets in… now have most of the Gable End walls all framed in and now have most of the windows all installed.

Next up; Roof Framing!!

Pam, Cllyde and James in front of our Chinked Home

Pam along with Clyde Owens and his son James (Clyde and James from “Pacific Log Homes”… Link here on Blog) came out to help Chink the exterior of our cabin the past two days.

We knocked out the exterior Chinking in two days!! :-) We went to town the past couple of days on the Exterior Chinking of our Log Home… Bringing us that much closer to having it all dried in before Winter.  Yesterday we had the crew of Pam, Corrina, Clyde, James and myself going to town on the Chinking and at the same time running tarps and duct tape trying to keep the rain storm we had from getting to the wet Chinking. Today, Corrina was feeling a bit under the weather but Pam brought along another “Log Home Building Nut”, Randy, to help finish with the chinking.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!! :-) :-)

Look forward to being able to help you with your Chhinking as well Randy! ;-)

Cabin's NE Side

Log Home’s NE Side all Chinked, Window Bucks in and Gable End 90% Framed In. :-) (Momma’ was a little pissed at me when I ran that 6″ X 12″ Beam up the ladder for our Window Header… Beam weighed around 300 pounds)

Log Home's West Side all Chinked

Log Home’s West Side All Chinked! :-)

We used “Perma-Chink” Tan Chink on our Log Home

Backer Rod detail

Backer Rod Detail for “Hemlock”

Above is a detailed Pic of dif. sized backer-rod used by Corrina and Pam to maintain a straight line on a gap in the logs that range from 1/2″ to 2″wide. Maintaining a nice straight line horizontally and vertically with the chinking is very eye appealing. Also shown above is the “Great Stuff” (NOT!!) Low expansion foam used in the corners. :-)

Backer-Rod detail and framing in Gable End

More Backer-Rod detail for Chinking and since I had the day off, I spent it framing in one of our Gable End Walls. :-)

Next up… Chiniking this Sunday and Monday!! :-)
